# Settings

> Personal preferences, company settings, API keys, and bring-your-own-key inference providers.

Click the gear among the corner buttons, at the bottom left of any storey, or press **,**. Settings open as a sheet over the screen you're on. You can also link to a section directly with `/floor?settings=<section>`, e.g. `/floor?settings=apiKeys`.

The sheet has two groups. **Personal settings** are available to everyone. **Company settings** are admin-only and hidden from members.

| Group | Sections |
| - | - |
| **Personal settings** | Personal information, Notifications, Account, Appearance, Sound, Danger zone |
| **Company settings** | Company information, Users, Billing, BYOK, API keys, Audit log |

## Personal settings

| Section | What it holds |
| - | - |
| **Personal information** | Profile photo (PNG or JPEG — it also appears on the floor, in place of your initials), name, email address (read-only), and phone. |
| **Notifications** | Optional emails you can turn off — getting-started emails, the weekly activity digest, the satisfaction survey. Account emails (sign-in codes, receipts and payment issues, security alerts) are always sent. |
| **Account** | Help — write to support or suggest a feature — and log out. |
| **Appearance** | Theme (light, dark, or system), interface language, time zone, floor layout reset, and guided tours. |
| **Sound** | Floor sounds on or off, and their volume. |
| **Danger zone** | Delete your account, permanently. |

### Language and time zone

Under **Appearance**:

* **Interface language** — 13 languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Turkish, Japanese, Korean). Content written by your agents keeps its own language.
* **Time zone** — used to display dates and times. Scheduled tasks and the audit log are reported in this zone. Agents you create also take this time zone — see [Creating and managing agents](/guides/creating-agents).
* **Replay the guided tours** — click **Reset** to see the welcome tour again, then each storey's tour on your next visit.

## Company settings

| Section | What it holds |
| - | - |
| **Company information** | Company name and logo. |
| **Users** | Members, roles, the **Can create agents** permission, and invitations. See [Team](/guides/team). |
| **Billing** | Invoices and the billing portal. See [Subscription](/guides/subscription). |
| **BYOK** | Your own LLM provider keys — see below. |
| **API keys** | Keys for programmatic access — see below. |
| **Audit log** | Account and company events, filterable and exportable as CSV. See [Audit log](/guides/audit-log). |

## API keys

Open **Settings → API keys** (admin-only) to create credentials for programmatic access to the Atako API — from scripts, MCP clients, or CI, without going through the browser. Keys belong to the company: every admin sees and can revoke every key, whoever created it.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create a key">
    Click **Create a key** and give it a name that says what it's for, e.g. "Production · backend".
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a scope and an expiry">
    **Scope**: **Read** refuses any request other than `GET`; **Read & write** allows everything you can do, except billing and key management. **Expiry**: 30, 90, or 365 days, or never.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy it immediately">
    The full key is shown only once. Copy it and store it somewhere safe.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Use it">
    Pass the key in the `Authorization: Bearer <key>` header on requests to the Atako API.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Revoke when no longer needed">
    Revoking a key takes effect immediately and can't be undone. The key stays listed as **Revoked**; you can then **Remove** it from the list for good.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## BYOK — bring your own key

If enabled for your company, **Settings → BYOK** lets admins declare your own LLM provider keys (OpenRouter, OpenAI, or Anthropic) and use them to run agents instead of Atako's included inference.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add a key">
    Click **Add a key**, choose a provider, give the key a label, and paste the secret. It's encrypted on arrival and never shown again.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign it to agents">
    Pick the key as the inference source when creating an agent, or later in the agent's settings.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Manage it over time">
    Test a key at any time, set an optional monthly cap, make one key the default, or disable a key without deleting it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  A BYOK key can't be deleted while agents are still running on it — move those agents to another inference source first.
</Warning>

<Note>
  Agents running on a BYOK key never draw from your company's credit balance — see [Credits](/concepts/credits#byok-agents).
