# Team

> Roles, invitations, per-member permissions, and shared company context.

Atako is built around a company, not individual accounts — your subscription, active agent licenses, and credit balance all belong to the company, and any number of teammates can share them.

## Roles

| Role | Can do |
| - | - |
| **Administrator** | Manage members and invitations, billing and subscription, integrations, API keys, and company-wide settings including shared context. Open the Dashboard storey. |
| **Member** | Use agents they have access to, edit their own profile and preferences. Creating agents requires an explicit permission — see below. |

<Note>
  Every company needs at least one administrator. The last remaining administrator can't be removed or demoted — promote someone else first.
</Note>

## Inviting members

Admins invite teammates by email from **Settings → Users**:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Settings → Users">
    Only visible to admins.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send an invitation">
    Under **Invite someone**, enter a colleague's email address and click **Send invitation**. The email goes out immediately.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invitation accepted">
    The invitation expires after **7 days** if unused. Once accepted, the new member appears in the **Members** list.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Pending invitations are listed under **Pending invitations** — admins can **Revoke** any of them before it's accepted.

## Removing a member

Removing a member cuts their access immediately. Agents they created are transferred to you and paused; resume them from **Lifecycle** in each agent's settings. Their private conversations are not transferred.

## Permission to create agents

Independently of role, each member has a **Can create agents** permission, toggled per person by an admin in **Settings → Users**. Granting it requires an active subscription. Without it, a member can use agents they're granted access to, but can't create new ones.

## Shared company context

Go down to the **Context** storey and open the **Knowledge** cube to give every agent background information about your company once, instead of repeating it in each agent's own instructions:

* **Description** — free text about your company, its products, culture, and processes.
* **Useful links** — labeled links to resources like your wiki, brand guidelines, or knowledge base. 20 at most, each starting with `https://` or `http://`.

<Note>
  Only admins can edit shared context. Members see it read-only. This is separate from an individual agent's own business context, set in its brief — see [Creating and managing agents](/guides/creating-agents).
</Note>

## Company details

Admins can update the company name and logo from **Settings → Company information**.
