# Exa

> Connect Exa to your Atako agents — 5 read and 0 write actions.

Let your agents search the web with Exa — neural web search, page contents, similar-page discovery and cited answers.

## Connection

* **Authentication**: API key.

<Note>
  Sign in at dashboard.exa.ai → API Keys → Create Key, name it and copy the key. Exa keys grant full API access (no scopes to configure).

  See [Exa's documentation](https://dashboard.exa.ai/api-keys).
</Note>

## Read actions (5)

| Action | Description |
| - | - |
| `answer` | Get a direct, citation-backed answer to a question using Exa search results. |
| `find_similar` | Find web pages semantically similar to a given URL. |
| `get_code_context` | Fetch token-efficient code context (repos, docs, Stack Overflow) for a programming query. |
| `get_contents` | Fetch clean page contents (text, highlights, summaries) for a list of URLs or Exa result IDs. |
| `search` | Search the web with Exa and optionally retrieve page contents for each result. |

## Write actions (0)

This connector is read-only — it exposes no write actions.

## Permissions

Every action above must be explicitly granted to an agent before it can be used. See [Permissions](/integrations/permissions) for the grant model and [Security](/integrations/security) for how credentials are protected.
