# Google Docs

> Connect Google Docs to your Atako agents — 2 read and 7 write actions.

Let your agents create, read and edit Google Docs. documentId is the part of the URL between /d/ and /edit. Use the Google Drive connector to search for documents.

## Connection

* **Authentication**: OAuth 2.0 — you authorize Atako via Google Docs's consent screen; no key to copy.
* **Scopes requested**:
  * `https://www.googleapis.com/auth/documents`

See [Google Docs's documentation](https://developers.google.com/workspace/docs/reference/rest).

## Read actions (2)

| Action | Description |
| - | - |
| `get_document` | Get a Google Doc by its documentId. Returns the full document structure including body, styles, and tabs. documentId is the part of the URL between /d/ and /edit. Use includeTabsContent=true to populate the tabs field instead of body. |
| `get_document_text` | Get the plain text content of a Google Doc (no formatting JSON). Returns only the text runs from each paragraph. documentId is the part of the URL between /d/ and /edit. |

## Write actions (7)

| Action | Description |
| - | - |
| `create_bullets` | Turn paragraphs into a bulleted or numbered list. startIndex (integer): UTF-16 start of the range. endIndex (integer): UTF-16 end of the range (exclusive). bulletPreset: the bullet style — choose from BULLET\_DISC\_CIRCLE\_SQUARE, BULLET\_CHECKBOX, NUMBERED\_DECIMAL\_ALPHA\_ROMAN, etc. |
| `create_document` | Create a new blank Google Doc with the given title. Returns the created document with its documentId. |
| `delete_content_range` | Delete content from a range in a Google Doc. startIndex (integer): the UTF-16 start index (inclusive). endIndex (integer): the UTF-16 end index (exclusive). Both must be read from the document structure via get\_document. |
| `insert_table` | Insert a table into a Google Doc. rows (integer): number of rows (1–20). columns (integer): number of columns (1–20). index (integer, optional): UTF-16 position where the table is inserted — omit to append at end of document. |
| `insert_text` | Insert text into a Google Doc. text: the text to insert (newline characters create new paragraphs). index (integer, optional): the UTF-16 code unit position in the document body where text is inserted — 1 = beginning of the body (index 0 is never valid), omit to append at the end of the document. To find correct indexes, first call get\_document and read the startIndex/endIndex of structural elements. |
| `replace_all_text` | Replace all occurrences of text in a Google Doc. replacements: array of find/replace pairs — each contains find (string to search for), replace (replacement text), and matchCase (boolean, optional, default false). Each replacement becomes a ReplaceAllTextRequest. |
| `update_text_style` | Update text style on a range. startIndex (integer): UTF-16 start of the range. endIndex (integer): UTF-16 end of the range (exclusive). bold, italic, underline (booleans, optional): set to true/false to apply or remove the style. The fields mask is computed automatically from which style properties you provide. |

## Permissions

Every action above must be explicitly granted to an agent before it can be used. See [Permissions](/integrations/permissions) for the grant model and [Security](/integrations/security) for how credentials are protected.
